Doug Chapel Illustrates

To the Editor,

My name is Doug Chapel. I invented the most widely distributed comic strip in Worcester. Many of the things I incorporated in to my award-winning comic strip were amazingly scripted for the city of Worcester to use. I am upset (and slightly affronted) that none of the suggestions I created realistically were produced in to comic personalities that were accepted by the Telegram & Gazette. I was trying to grab your attention with my witty moped riding characters at Ralph's Chadwick Square Diner, but apparently I did not get my point across! This city needs more "Diner" coverage! I can not visit every location on this bike! Please understand, I mean nothing malicious and I hope you still like me, however, can we have some more coverage of Miss Worcester?

Food Carts

Their have beeen a lot of regulations passed regarding food carts in Worcester: where they may park, what permissions they need to have, their hours of operations, but I feel there is still one crucial aspect that still remains: the food itself.

Last week I got a steak and cheese grinder from a food cart downtown. The size of it! it was far more than I expected. I couldn't imagine anyone ever eating so much! This might sound like a good deal, but stop and consider that many food cart customers like myself eat their purchases on the go. The sandwich was so large, I couldn't see the sidewalk in front of me. The next thing I knew, I tripped and went face down on the concrete. I walked away with only a few cuts and scrapes, a messy shirt, and no sandwich, however that may not be the case for the next person.

The city really needs to scale down the size of the items offered by food cart vendors. This is a lawsuit waiting to happen. Besides, we would all be in better health if ate less of this stuff.

Respectfully,

Michael Capers
